Is the 84-89 stock digital tach accurate?
Are the stock digital units real accurate? Has anyone ever compared it to an aftermarket tach?
Is anyone using an aftermarket tach? If so, what brand and how do you like it?
Thanks in advance for the help!

It is a computer counting pulses so that part should be very accurate A lot of Corvettes seem to show too much RPM on the tach. Mine does too. It is probably because the dash gets a bad signal from the distributor.

The LCDs are too slow in 1 and 2 to really be accurate. The dash only updates it's information 16 times a second, but it is still too fast for the original LCDs to keep up with.

I think they are accurate more then enough for daily driving. The Bars are also very cool and I use the Bar more then the numbers themselves.
Actaully they are a really nice design and I love it!!
