been trying to locate a FX3 switch for my '89 but no one makes it. I'm pretty sure just the switch is broken. if I can find another dial from like a microwave or something, then just reuse the black dial from my vette and the housing, will this fix my problem?

If you're sure that yours is defunct, you could "operate" on it to see what's inside. Maybe you could even make some kind of repair.

lot of people remove the system, post a request in the for sale area, I'm sure someone will sell you a working one pretty cheap.

I looked everywhere, even on ebay.

I posted in the for sale forum and someone on the forum offered me one for $150 and it was one from a '90 so it wouldn't even be the right interior part.

PS: no one really answered my question, does the switch have a resistor or something in it or just straight triple pole toggle switch?

According to the FSM, the switch has 4 resistors in it, from 49.9 ohms to 499 ohms.

You could try www.contemporarycorvette.com, they might have a used one.
