Where to get 89 EGR temp switch?
My 89 is throwing a code 32. I replaced the EGR valve with a Delco part when I did the injectors a couple years ago, maybe 3000 miles, so hopefully that isn't the issue. I did a search here and it sounds like it could be the EGR temp switch, but I also read they aren't made anymore but some are out there, just expensive. I searched the usual big vendors and a bunch of others and cannot find a single one. Does anyone know where to get one?
I have a manual and will follow the troubleshooting there, but with 90000 miles and 21 years old it would be good to have one around no matter what.
Thanks.

Those are discontinued. I know there is at least one '89 being parted out in the F/S section - you might try to snag your part.
I'd check the one you got by checking the resistance of the one you already have. The resistance across a working sensor should be very different between hot and cold.

Thanks for the info Jake, but my oil pressure sender is fine. Do you know where I can get the EGR temperature switch? I did try Ecklers, Mid America, Corvette Central, Last Detail and a bunch of others found during a web search; all with no luck.
Thanks Engle1147, I will give that a try.
It only seems to come on first thing in the morning when I startup to go to work, vehicle is completely cold. After I drive home and then restart, it doesn't come on. The last few mornings it has stayed on anywhere between 4 and 12 minutes, then goes off.

Another thing no one can seem to find is a EGR solenoid. Mine is missing, and the I think the vacuum lines are a little screwy. If anyone could find a link for a 86 EGR solenoid, I'll give you a pixelated hug.

solenoid
Ecklers had listed a EGR solenoid connector (Part number 53262) to upgrade 85-91 Corvettes so you could use a 92-96 solenoid ( their part number 36929). Don't know if this is still good though.

Sorry, I posted the oil sender advice on the wrong thread. It was meant for the guy who broke his pulling his engine.

Here is what my online auto repair site says could cause a Code 32....WW.
Code:32 The most common cause of this code is a bad or intermittent EGR switch which is located on the EGR pipe between the exhaust manifold and the intake manifold. Replace this switch first when you get this code. Next, check electrical connections at EGR valve solenoid and then the ECM. Check all vacuum lines for leaks especially around the EGR valve. Possible ECM failure.

Check the wire that on top the EGR Temp switch I resoldred mine back on the top part of the switch above the white insulator is all one piece you can solder the whole thing then use some shrink wrap so it looks nice.
The wire mite look good but under the wre insulation thwe wire could be broken.
It's easy to break when messing around back on the rear right of the motor.
Good luck

Jake, I tried all the online Corvette sites before I ended up paying $80.00 for an egr temp switch on ebay about 7 months ago. There are no new ones that I could find anywhere , whenever they part a car out there's a chance you may get one used , but I beat the brush for weeks looking for one new.. WW

I believe I still have a solenoid around here somewhere but don't recall if it's off my earlier 86 or my current 96 - they resemble.
