Default GM lowers cost of new optispark?

My mechanic tells me tonight not to worry about buying a later C4 with optispark because he just bought one and the price is significantly reduced. He's guessing that the warranty period is now up and the price was reduced since GM no longer will writeoff a replacement. I asked him if the over-counter price also was reduced but he didn't know. He was talking about his price.

That would always be welcome!

Now if someone made a reliable replacement to ditch the opti...

I noticed in the latest MAD catalog that 95-96 optis were now dirt cheap at $150 or so. Maybe due to the same reason. The non-vented optis were still outrageously priced.

Wonder what 18carfan can get them for now?

EDIT: just read in the other thread that the $150 opti is a rebuild kit...argh
