Who else thinks Ecklers is the worst company ever?
Waited a week for my tow hitch, and it didn't come. Now, One week plus four days, I get a package...hmmm...this is too small to be a tow hitch, and its too light.
Its my Fire Extinguisher. So I read the note they sent, "Your towing hitch is back-ordered." What it should have said is, "It Turns out the Towing Hitch that we said we had in stock isn't in stock, please wait a long time."
The Fire Extinguisher said, "Bolts onto existing bolts." Does not! You have to drill new holes.
Worst company ever. :smash: Thats the last time I order from a company just because its $15 cheaper than the other companies. :cuss

Definately not the worst ever.. But they have a few VERY creative descriptions of parts that would confuse someone who is unfamiliar with them..
Boo to that.
The high quality, easy to install, matches dash color breadbox eliminator they sell for around $50, is low quality, difficult to install, and doesn't c ome close to matching.
Boo to that.
The high strength steel hatch vent is almost as soft as butter. It's advertised as high strength steel.
Boo to that.
They once shipped me some zaino, and the bottle broke in transit due to improper packing. They sent a new one no questions asked.
Cheers to that.

I can't say because I'm new to Corvettes and haven't bought anywhere else ... BUT!
I ordered a bunch of stuff from them, almost all was "in stock", but it took nearly a month to get all the items. They trickled in slowly. The outter window seals I bought for my 84 were total crap. The retainer clips were so soft it was a joke. I sent them back and bought GM seals at the dealer for a couple of dollars more.
On a positive note they haven't hassled me about returning anything.

Well, I honestly have never had any nightmares from them. I think I've had 1 or 2 slipups that they have fixed promptly. I have made quite a few orders to them, so I can't complain too much yet. :)

Maybe not the worst but not very good either. Not getting any of my (and several of my frieds') money anymore. They made me an unsatisfied customer and will lose tens of thousands in business - their loss not mine. There are plenty of other companies that are straight with their customers and are nice to do business with.
Here is my final experience with them: https://www.corvetteforum.com/review...=451&TopicID=7
I wish better luck for you fellow forum members.

I think they are pretty close to being on the 'don't shop there list' for me.
What gets me is their prices are way inflated...even more than the dealership prices, but if you try the price match...they find a reason to get out of it.
I wouldn't buy anything really expensive...you wouldn't believe the crap they give if you have to return something.

Maybe it’s just a reluctance to send a tow hitch out for a Corvette. It’s Corvette blasphemy. :yesnod:

Worst? maybe
Good Prices? NOT! especially if you figure in "hidden" charges
Speedy Service? NOT!
Shop there again? NOT! NOT! NOT!
My most recent experience ....
Ordered a part for $19.95 and was asked if I wanted next day air. Not necessary, especially when factoring in the cost and since I only live a few hours away. So I requested USPS shipping (at most, 3 days shipping via parcel post).
I did ask if the part was in stock (YES) and when it would ship. I was told that it wouldn't ship for a "few days" unless I requested special handling at a cost of $2.00 or so. OK, I'll bite ... give me the special handling.
And boy, did I get the special handling. Four weeks later the part arrived via parcel post and the charge to my card was $35.00 ($20 for the part and $15 for shipping and special handling ). I took the package to the post office and asked them how much it would cost to ship the package back and how long it would take. The answer: $1.90 and 2 days.
Moral of the story: either someone ain't doing their job well for the customer or they are doing it extremely well for Ecklers. My burn wasn't too bad dollar wise but I can't look at one of their catalogs now without getting angry at being lied to and essentially cheated.
There, I feel better now.

Just priced a pair of Hooker Aero muffs at Eckler's, $359.99 + S&H. Found 'em at a local automotive chain not particularly known for discount prices, $335.XX. Eckler's schmecklers.

Write the president of Ecklers. How do you expect them to get better? I've gotten a lot of satisfaction from spending 34 cents writing to presidents. Always talk to the head, not the feet!

Maybe it’s just a reluctance to send a tow hitch out for a Corvette. It’s Corvette blasphemy.

I can't get a catalog from them. I have sent the request in three times...I was going to order from them to get the catalog but after this post I will continue ordering from ZIP Products at this time

I'll add fuel to the fire:
Their tech dept. just aint all that great. Never did call me back.
One guy flat out said to me "We just don't deal with alot of stuff for C4 owners, we're mostly for C5 and C3 guys".
okayyyyyyyy...............

poo on ecklers..i live 2 hours from them, and had ordered a DUI distributor from them, with urgent delivery (the new motor was ready to go in except for...). Well, it took a week to get here  Some items are resonably priced, others are just out of control.

Questionable quality on many parts. I bought braided SS brake hoses from them. They were manufactured by a Co. called G-STOP, they leaked like sives at the fitting to hose connections.
Caviot emptor, non carborundum illigitimi or something like that,

I have one of Kevin's hatch vents I might sell ya. My car is too f'n loud with the hatch vent in.:D I have had no problems with Ecklers or Mid America. My only gripe is MA shipped my stereo in its original packaging, basically advertising that it was a JVC stereo and it never got to my house. I called after a few weeks and they sent me another one no questions asked.
