Default Fuel injectors ???

Tonight was interesting ... I was going down the road and my 89 vette started to act like it was running out of gas then stalled. So I coast to the side of the road and try to start it and it turns over but will not start . Wait 5 min and try it again and it tries to start for split second and then back to just turning over . At this point have no clue if it lacks spark or fuel . Have a flat bed come grab it and take it home and here is what I got... I thought maybe it was the fuel filter got clogged and cut out the gas . Changed and still have the same problem . Checked spark and the spark is strong . Checked fuel pump and it maintains 40+ psi . So I started checking injectors and here is where things get strange . I pulled the first 1 out and turned it over and it fired up - ran rough but still ran . Plugged it back in and pulled the second injector out and turned it over and it fired up again ... Now I plugged them all in and you guessed it - would just turn over would not start . I messed with it a little more pulling some injectors from the other side and while turning it over and it fired up again . This time I let it run for a bit while 1 was unplugged and the plugged it back in and it stayed running . Ran normal - good strong idle.Part of me thought well its all set and the other part saw me on the side of the road again so I went and pulled the 1st injector out when it was running and it died . So it ran with the injector pulled out and then in and then out . Does anyone have any clue on what this could be ???

Start with: Refer to the injector sticky at the top of the forum, and OHM check your injectors. See what readings you get.

Do you have a noid light to check for injector pulses from the computer?

What is the repair history?

From the drivers side going from the bumper to the fire wall it was -

0.008
0.016
0.016
0.014

the other side

0.016
0.005
0.005
0.015

I see there are 3 that are toast . But wouldnt it still turn over and just run but sound horrible ? Anyhow I read the post by Jon and saw everyone saying how much they loved their new injectors . What ones would I need for an 89 corvette . Bosch 3s ? 1 more question ... How in the world can this car run fine and then it stalls and I have 3 injectors that are toast . Could it have had 2 that were bad and the 3rd 1 that went was the straw that broke the camels back ? Thanks

This is very true, it only tells if the coil is shorting out..If it has the original injectors I would replace them just because there Multecs and they are known to fail when gas with ethenol is used..WW

I just did injectors on one of my DD's V6

2 plugged, 2 shot coils, and 2 good.

The 2 plugged ones still showed fine on the ohm meter.

His car calls for 22LB injectors. Don't believe me call Jon and ask him

To the OP.

If you have 3 injectors that are toast, and most likely clogged as well, it will leave you stranded quicker than a Gold digger.
