88 twitches to the right on highway??
Hello every one,
I just pulled my car out of the garage after being parked for 4 years. When driving it for the first few times I noticed the car will jump or twitch to the right very quickly, but only on the highway and almost exclusively when running over cracks or bumps in the road.
I brought the vette into a GM dealer to have it aligned, but the car is still reacting in the same manner.
I wrote the before and after specification of my wheel alignment, the measurements are all in degree's.
BEFORE:
FRONT
Left Right
Caster 6.51 6.61
Camber 0.26 0.19
Toe -0.16 -0.21
REAR
Left Right
Camber 0.41 0.32
Toe -0.24 -0.27
AFTER:
FRONT:
Left Right
Caster 5.93 6.21
Camber 0.47 0.35
Toe -0.09 -0.06
REAR:
Left Right
Camber 0.55 0.48
Toe 0.01 0.00

Mine would twitch like yours under similar circumstances. Sometimes left, sometimes right.
I determined that the Goodyear Gatorbacks, which were original and 20 plus years old, were the culprits. It twitched like that ever since it was new. I figured it was normal, but, I replaced the Gatorbacks last year with Michelins, and I do not have the twitch anymore.

Not being smart, but I assume your camber numbers are negative. Did they check the ball joints, tie rods, and rear ujoints for play?
