BELIEVE IT, LT-1 722 rear wheel hp with 827lbs of torque @5500rpm
Once in a very great while I discover something that catches my eye other then slender blondes. Two years ago two 383 vortech blown LT-1s were built. After debugging one put out 571rwhp, the other 585rwhp. Last night, the 571's owner added a 100 shot of nitrous. Guess what----722 rwhp running rich at an AF ratio of 11.8 all at 5500 rpm. The big question is how long the clutch will last. With my 700R4 I'm reluctant to do the same. Keep in mind, this is a daily driver with no obnoxious behavior. The purpose of the post is merely to acknowledge the power is there and available.
P.S.I believe the dyno driver changed his pants after the run.

Sounds like TNT kit numbers. 722-571 = 149hp so I would say it is a 150 shot, not a 100 shot. Sounds like he got some just by cooling the intake air charge. Personally, I would stick with the 585 and be very happy. Adding Nitrous to an already high static compression engine just plain scares me. Good luck if you choose to do it though.

Although I must admit, I came real close to putting a t-trim blower on mine and I was going to keep the Nitrous as well. I too am an addict.

I can see it awesome #s :) A local that is on CZ28.com has a 383 LT1 YS trim that turned over 900 hp on the motor dyno. Can't wait to see it in the car :yesnod:

somebody here in houston was putting over 800 to the wheels 5 years ago. i've driven some pretty nasty cars, but this one was scariest, mostly because it hooked pretty good. most high power cars i've driven don't hook until into triple digits, when driving them on the street.

Any idea on what kind of programming they had done or were they using aftermarket ECUs? I know my car's having some major issues right now with knock from the headers and incorrect fuel mixtures.

Sorry this is loooooooong...Don't get me wrong I love my vette and I wouldn't trade her in on anything else in the world(unless it was an even better vette), but my friends are Supra owners and they regularly turn any where from 400 to 900 rwhp on the dyno's w/o sacraficing daily driving or durability, and they even hook up like a mother f*cker too. One of my friends owns MVP Motorsports, Dusty, and he has this Supra with the licsense V8Killa, and he kills Hybusa Motorcycles that have been modded out the azz. His car is Xtremely scary b/c it hooks up and runs 9 sec 1/4's all day long and he drives it everywhere he goes wit no prob. Hell I want one too. Sorry this is long :blueangel:

you might need a twin turbo vette to keep up with some of those Supras. SW in TX has some badd rides 2 b sure. me and some of the east coast VA boys are trying to cook up a twin turbo ZR1 to run the numbers. looking for around 8-900 rwhp and good durability that the LT5 is famous for.
anyone know some tuners that could help??? LPE did a few of these as did Callaway, Mallet, and some german outfit. but they were ALL nosebleed prices. we are looking a more reasonable approach using buick GN turbos, intercoolers, and some factory 95 manifolks as the start of this project. also looking to use a FAST computer to control BIG secondary injectors and some alchy injection so we can continue to use the high compression ratio with low boost on the street, and crank it up at the track on race gas.
thanks in advance for any help/advice you have. :D

Still would rather hear a small block than a hornet's nest.
With than mph, he should be running 8's. Big turbo with a stick is hard to launch.

Why would anyone want to cut up a ZR1 just to make it a fast ¼ mile car? Shoot, if you're gonna go nuts like that, it'd better run mid 7's, or else it ain't bull. Seriously, the ZR1 is a SUPERCAR...not a Dragster. :nono: If you wanna make a drag car...get an old Chevelle.
