Correct. Glad it was a smooth installation, looks great! Mine are on order with Vansteel coming in later this month

Yesterday I started doing the fronts at 4:30PM, by 6:45 the monospring was out and the coilovers were in place but the sway bar has to be relocated. I may get away by grinding about 1/4" off the sway bar's end.

Van Steel's instructions say to grind 1/4" off the SB's bracket.

Gotcha. Thanks! I was hoping I could avoid modifying the frame, but no biggie.

I'm getting to the point where I need to replace the rear spring on my '92. I also have the sport suspension package that allows me to adjust the firmness of the suspension which works quite well for my driving. My question is, does the coil overs allow for a comfortable touring ride for trips etc? And would I need to replace the front shocks or could I use them with the rear shock lines plugged? The Van Steel coilovers look like a really clean conversion!

Hey it's been a long time since I have been here. But I have a question for you. How high off the ground does the car need to be to get the monospring out of the car? I have EM coil overs and I am just getting started with this mod. Trying to get my car back together for the summer. I have the helms joint for the front sway bar and I am having a machinist make a new bracket for the top of the rear mounts.

Just high enough for you to get under it to remove it.

You can also raise one side of the car higher than the other to make removal easier.

Well my rear one is trashed. So do I remove the bolts from the suspension knuckle first and then use a floor jack to lower each side untill the tension is gone or do I just unbolt it from the batwing first and then unbolt the sides?

That seems like the safer way (IMO).

Take the tension off the spring on one side with a floor jack. Remove the bolt and lower the jack. Do the other side the same way. Keep the jack inline with the spring so it can roll. That thing will hurt ya!

Van Steel is it! We designed them but did not want to make them, so we licensed Van Steel to make them. They have them now.

Anyone have issues with the spindle breaking(where the lower coil-over bolts to spindle)?Obviously it(spindle) was not designed for that.I would be concerned with breakage, especially with my luck.Is there anyway to reinforce that area where the coil-over mounts to the spindle?Or is it plenty strong & I am completely wrong?Could hitting a large pothole with the coil-overs cause spindle breakage?Or has the coil-over manufacturer already tested all "worst-case" scenearious?I think the coil-overs look great & offer lots of adjustablity but am I wrong in thinking there could be breaking which could lead to a bad accident or cause extensive damaged if/when it breaks? That area on the spindle was designed to damped the suspension not carry the weight of the vehicle. Can some coil-over guys that had their coil-overs for a while chime-in?Can some also post if their spindle has broken, cracked or fatigued in any way?Can any engineers or others post their ideas & opinions on my thoughts?

So that is interesting. I can't find where QA1 makes a smaller diameter body than 2.0" in their adjustable PROMA STAR series.

What is the diameter of these?

PLRX - Have you set the rear down on the ground yet to see how close it is to the half shaft? Also, can you tell me what the inner diameter of those Hyperco springs are?

By the way, its looking good, I can't wait to see it on the ground.

Mark, I would like to see yours in person when you get them... I noticed you're in Houston as well.

SpedRacr the shock body itself isn't smaller than the Bilstein. But the threads are part of the shock body on the QA1 where the Bilstein kits use a threaded sleeve over the shock body which requires use of a larger diameter spring. 2.25ID on QA1 vs 2.5ID on Bilstein.

Happy to have you take a look when mine come in. I'm just south of Cypress.

I have to do some adjustments on the rears. Yes, the Vette it is on the ground but, it is tooooo high, higher than stock.

The Hyper-'s diameter? I get that for you this weekend.

I'm getting hammered at work, I have had inspectors here for two weeks...they leave today
