Default About 94 computers.

Are engine computers all the same? I mean for base models?

lots of variables with used ccm's. You can have yours reflashed at Ken Andersons in Georgia. CCM's rarely go bad by the way. So make double dam* sure thats the problem

If you're talking about the PCM then yes they're the same. Like Boonie mentioned, grab a used one off ebay from any of those model cars and just reflash it using your stock bin file.

I've got a spare one I bought off a fellow forum member here for my 95 and when I got it I flashed it with a dump of my stock bin file and it works great in my car and I use a slightly modified file on the PCM in my car and have swapped between them.

If you really wanted (I'm in Canada), you could send me your original PCM and the used one and I'll dump the data from the original and flash the used one and send them both back to you as long as you cover shipping both ways. I'm sure someone on here would offer to do it for you and they live closer to where you are.

Hope this helps.

You could reprogram PCM? What hardware did you use? Where did you get a cable and program?

The mileage is stored in the CCM (not the PCM or ECM). I can be changed with a Tech 1 but you need the correct software module for the interface. There may be scanners that can do that function also but I could not tell you exactly which ones.

This is true, the only "gotcha" is that the mileage can only be entered in a new or rebuilt CCM within the first 100 miles, after that it becomes locked.

Thanks for completing my thought. That is the catch. I knew there was a second part but could not remember the exhaust words so left it out rather than being incorrect.
