87 Loose steering column

Default 87 Loose steering column

Anyone have advice on 87 C4 tilt wheel that is loose. All works but from years of pulling on it has become wiggly

My 85 was the same way, after looking at all of the options I contacted a guy on the forum, he sold me a used one for $50, took about 3 hours to replace, tight as a drum. Make sure they send the keys if you are going to use the key lock that is in the column.

I had the same issue with my 85. I found a local guy who works on steering columns. I removed it and took it too him. He took mine apart and tightened up the internal screws and used loctite. I do not recall what I paid him thou.

Just disregard the 1st section on the air bag removal.
