Default Bell Housing Dust Cover Contact

Put on a Canton oil pan and now the dust cover is making a terrible noise - definitely making contact with something. I pulled it off to make sure it was straight and put it back on, but the noise is still there. The dust cover had one area that was getting scratched on the starter side, but I don't see what it is hitting. There is no noise when the cover is off, so I know that is the problem.

Anyone have this issue before or know a fix?

Does it leak fluids with the dust cover off?

Maybe dimple it a little where the scratches are?

Never had the issue. If it doesn't leak fluid with the dust cover off just drive it that way this weekend. Bring the cover and find the TT crew. I'm sure Toby will come up with something. Who else would have a franken Mercedes??? I think only the body is Mercedes.
They McGuyver tv series is based on Toby's abilities.

No leaks. I tried sanding it down where the scratches were, but no luck. I am going to give it another shot tomorrow and then take your advice and just bring it with me. Thanks.

it doesn't take much to tweek the cover and make it hit the flywheel

remove the starter and see what it looks like.

I put a Canton on recently with no problems. You probably just have a little bow in it. It's awfully thin metal so it's easy to bend.
