Default The Build Up Resumes PLRX LT4

This is my first time doing the whole thing. Took me couple of pistons to get the hang of it . Did the crank
and 4 pistons (Scat Crank and Rods with SRP pistons), tomorrow I'll finish the bottom end and start on the valve train etc.

What you all think?

Looks good so far. It's always better to build it yourself.

Looks very nice Pete! Is that the engine from your collector edition, or did you buy another block to build up?

Is the lifter valley painted?

Make sure you brush/blow out the oil passages before running oil through there....machine work remnants will wreck a journals/bearings in a heartbeat.

No, it's not painted it's a medium coat of oil

I do enjoy working on cars/engines/tearing them apart etc. maybe, this is what I'm supposed to do after I retire from the Marines. I'm working on getting ASE certified.

Isn't it a great feeling when you do something like this, not just right , but perfect? I envy you that feeling, remember doing it myself and always feeling the pride when it started up and ran well. Can't wait to see the final result

Great shots!
What are you doing in the 2nd pic from top, with the little gauge?

I've done a top-end rebuild on a VW but not this stuff...
