Default Seat Removal 1988

I need to remove both seats in my '88 so that I can: 1> replace a tunnel trim piece on the passenger side; and 2> troubleshoot an overdrive switch button issue on the drivers side. I see that there is some kind of handle in the center middle of the underside of the seat cushion, but have not been able to figure out how to remove it yet. Any suggestions?

Default Remove seat cushion

That wire handle is the release for the seat cushion. Press the front of the wire downward then rear ward to release. It helps to press down on the seat cushion in the middle near the front while releasing the handle. The handle pivots on about a 3" radius.
Hope this helps.

Default

Why don't you just remove the 4 nuts that hold the track to floor and pull the seat out ??
