Default Oil temp help please

I have an 86 w/92K, runs fine.

My question is, when driving on the interstate ~80mph the oil temp shoots up to 240 and stays there but the coolant temp is at 205. Should this be?

If not normal any suggestions??

BTW I live in FL, it is 92 today

ideally oil temp should be about 15F-20F above coolant temps ID suggest an oil cooler and larger capacity baffled oil pan

adding a DUAL oil cooler & transmission fluid cooler seems like a good idea

My 1986 does the same thing, oil temp is always 20 to 30 degrees higher then the water temperature.

You could also drop a lower temp thermostat in, I run a 180.
