CATBACK exhaust for 96 LT4
PLEASE HELP.....I am looking to purchase a performance exhaust for my 96 CE LT4 Convt. I am looking at B&B Triflo, Corsa and Magnaflow. I see it comes in 2-1/2" or 3". MY LT4 is stock and I might add the cold air later. Is 3" too much exhaust for my stock LT4? Am I better off with the 2-1/2" system? I am not a racer, I just want a little throaty sound and a better breathing system. Harry

You will get differing opinions from everyone on here, but here is the GENERAL CONSENSUS that I've found by reading 4,000,000 exhaust threads.
Several brands sound nice, but Corsa is the only cat-back that will give you zero resonance. It sounds like a beast when you floor it, but at cruise, it shuts up so you can actually hear yourself think. If you've ever been in a car with a resonance issue, you'll know how important this is. Corsa is pretty pricey, but it's worth it for what it is.

I agree w/StealthLT4...
If I'd only known "then"... I was going to go w/the Corsa and let Lingenfelter talk me out of the Corsa and into the B&B Tri-Flo... LOUD!!! and there's ALOT of cabin resonance. Don't go w/Tri-Flo unless you'd rather not be able to hear the radio/stereo... the cops notice it as well.
I will say that the B&B Tri-Flo looks/sounds nice... but I'd rather have less noise at cruise and only unleash the dogs at WOT. The resonance disappears after 1850 (or so) rpm, and then it's all good... just loud(er).
I also had the entire exhaust, headers-to-catback (minus the polished mufflers) ceramic coated... made a real difference in the exhaust temperature at the tips! I have to adjust my mufflers well away from the bumper to keep it from burning the paint and melting the bumper.
