Default Magnaflow X Pipe...Why---?

Why the new Magnaflow Cat-Back system have two X-Pipes? One in front of the resonator and one inside the resonator?

I'm not an engineer or have a PhD in astrophysics, I know someone out there does. This is just a curiosity

Default Your new exhaust-Sound

Not sure why the 2 x pipes. Are you replacing your stock exhaust system with the Magnaflow? How does it sound with the x-pipe?

I'm thinking because the previous setup had just the internal x-pipe but they can sell if for more if people can see the x-pipe.

Perhaps they found some bad harmonics at certain ranges and the additional X was the solution?

Are you sure there's a crossover inside the resonator?

Jeff (one of the Arizona vette' boys- who also has this kit) mentioned to me that he removed the resonator after having it on the car for about a week or two. After i spoke with Jeff, i decided to also have my resonator removed prior to install. the exhaust sounds great! it's very mellow, and completely tolerable.

I don't have heads, I have stock cats, and mine is actually pretty "quite"! it's a nice kit and a very competitive price! I Highly recommend it!

I also recommend ZFdoc.com (Bill) or Exoticmuscle.com (Merle) to install this if you're and AZ local!

What's your secret?! If I could avoid blowing $1500 for AFR heads on my next build and still get good performance, I'd like to know!

The short answer would be that Magnaflow originally designed the exhaust with an external Tru-X and utilizing a resonator, but then decided to use their dual-in dual-out muffler with the Tru-X as a resonator for a cost-cutting measure....

OR... it's a noise cancelling thing.
