Hi:

Has anyone used the height adjustable front spring offered by VetteBrakes and Products to lower the front on their car? If so, how did it work, and what is the range of adjustment? The reason I ask is that I am thinking about lowering the front of my '89, and can't decide on this spring or the wedge route.

My opinion only, you'd be better off with the adjustable front spring, so you can make changes to the ride height if you needed in the future.

You can make your own adjustable by drilling the end and using a bolt, or adding shim to the end. A new higher rate spring would be nice if you want to spend that much though. I believe their adjustable version only comes in high rate. Don't bother with the wedge kit, just use flat stock for shim.

I was going to do what you want to do on my '89. I ordered an adjustable spring from VBP the first part of last Dec. They promissed to have it to me before Xmas. I never got it. They never sent it. I just sanded down the existing bushings instead, and got a 1" drop in front. Pretty much just what I was looking for.

Thanks, everyone, for your replies----the idea of sanding down the existing wedge sounds good. That way, you don't have to do any cutting or gluing.

I cut most of the mass off with a hack saw then belt sanded to exactly what I wanted. It's probably a horse a piece whether you use the new wedge or mod the stock wedge.





Tempting to put in a higher rate spring but this is free.
