Default Annoying noise coming from the heads !

Hi,i have this thing going on since long time ago
i will get rid of my ignition problems and after that i want to deal with something i haven't defeat ! THE MISTERY SINGIN BIRD HEADS

When it reaches normal operating temps this horrible noise starts....
"pee pee pee pee pee pee pee" coming from the heads.-
Its not any of the rotating accesories (alt, air, water pumps, steering or a/c) since i have tried the car without the serpentine belt and the noise its still there.-
we removed the valve covers and adjusted the rocker bolts and it goes away if we loose the bolt,it comes again, but we adjust it,and it comes away anyway in a couple of days !
What could be the cause ?
Bent pushrod ? Worn out guide plates ? what the heck !!!
im now removing my stamped rockers in favor of some full roller 1.5 rockers brand new hardened pushrods an new guideplates .-
what you think its causing this annoying noise ??????
thanks !

sounds like you need a lifter. Check that your pushrods are flowing oil to each rocker, and pull the rockers that seems the loudest, and check the rocker *****.
New rockers might take care of it, but it does sound like a lifter.

Those rockers and lifters are in fact brand NEW,yes oil is flowing, when i tight that rocker,it goes away, but after a couple of days,it comes again.
A lifter ? sounds like a good time to upgrade the intake manifold, but those lifters are brand new too.-

Are you actually saying the rocker is losing its adjustment?

I haven't been into one of these engines so I don't know what type of rocker nuts they use. It it is the locknut type you may just need a new nut. Better yet, go to polylock nuts and eliminate that problem.

You could also have a rocker stud loosening up (if screw in type) or pulling out of the head (if pressed in type).

Another possibility is the rocker is cracked, or excessively worn.

you got me thinkin'
another board, hotrodders they also said lifters...
when we tightened the rockers it went away...but it comes back
strange because the lifters are brand new !
What can i do to solve this ?
i will try with the roller rockers ..i hope they shut this bird pee pee pee down !

if im going to take the intake manifold off...i would buy runners and a new base goddamnit

Did you know that GM was wrong ?
They were wrong on hundreds of engines ....for a lot of years ...
the stock guideplates must be used with self aligning rockers...
because they are not real guideplates .........
.....this is getting crazy...take a look here
damn one people say one thing , then say another thing ...
crazy man crazy

As stated by someone else, the factory "guide plates" are only to ease assembly, they serve no other purpose. You MUST use self-aligning rockers.

If you have added true guide plates, then you MUST use non-self aligning rockers AND hardened pushrods.

It is extremely rare for a roller cam to go bad. They do not require break-in like a traditional flat tappet cam.

Sounds like a push rod rubbing a guide plate to me, but I have been wrong before.

I heard that sound before on a 91. The bracket holding the cam in place broke and the cam was scratching against the timing cover.

Sounds Like you need New Lifters. You said you just replaced all 8 lifters.? If thats the case the next step is the rocker arms. if those are new, you should make sure they're set correctly. I reccommend the- Yella Tara 1.7 ratio. also Exhaust valves=1.575. As stupid as it sounds something may not have been properly lubed...i.e. Bad Oil.? definitely have this done at GM.

Not possible, the noise comes from the rear, and adjusting a lifter it goes away, the bad thing is that it comes and goes ....
