Rattiling noise
Hey, Over the last few months my 88 4+3 tranny vette has begun to rattle same times even at idle in a stopped position. I put it on my hoist last night but i couldnt find any loose parts. i can hear and feel it when i sit in the car and it comes and goes. Has anyone ever experienced this befor and if so what was the fix.

Check your heat shields on the exhausts: exhaust manifolds, exhaust pipes, and cat. Many times the heat shields corrode near the welds and cause the problem.

my stock exhaust was horrible. When I test drove the car I thought it was in the drive train, he assured me his mechanic told him it was the exhaust. I regretted buying it the first time I took it for a ride, and thought about it, then I realized it was only at certain rpms, I put on straights, and there are no problems at all.

check your catalytic converters - sometimes they break up inside and the pieces rattle making it sound like it is coming from the drive train. It happened in my '85.
