Shaking in turns...
best example is on an on-ramp...long steady curve. my steering wheel shakes quite a bit, but I have no issues in a straight line. Shocks, ball joints, bushings? Sumitomo tires are relatively new and "road force" balanced. I don't want to throw parts at it, I just want it to be right. As far as I can tell from my records from the previous owner, no work has been done on the front end. The last time I had it aligned, the shop didn't say anything about parts being worn, but i think it may be time.

Could be. I can't remember if the fronts on the 85 are sealed units like the rear or not...It might be time just to rebuild the whole thing...20+ years old...Things have gotta be worn out. I just want to do it smart and methodically.

I know this sounds trivial, but have you checked to make sure that all your lugs are torqued down correctly? I had a similar problem after my tires had been mounted. Pissed me off but I was happy to find out it was so simple.

get each front wheel off the ground and hold the tire at 3 & 9 o'clock and see if you can shake the wheel back & forth. Do the same at 12 and 6. most likely are ball joints, wheel bearings.

I was gonna say rebuild the front as a winter project. . . . but you live in Florida. That's gonna be automatic down time for a few days or weeks.
Good luck....and here's a bump in case someone else might have a solution...
