unpluged tranny sensor now speedo and od reading very wrong
Hi all,
I was R&Ring the clutch slave on my 93' 6 spd and unplugged the tranny sensor just behind the slave and fiddled w it a little. plugged it back in.
Now Slave is great but the Speedo is reading 105 mph when I'm doing 50 and the odometer reads 140K miles when it has less then 85000 miles.
Anyone know what this is and how to fix it quickly?
Thanks
Evan

can't tell you about all years, on mine (90) the ccm stores the actual vehicle miles. The only method I know of to change vehicle miles is by re-programming the ccm.....use to be dealer only. I can't understand what you did effecting this, I had all plugs off etc. in and out of the car w/no effect on actual miles.
only other suggestion I would have is disconnect batt. for a couple minutes and re-connect.

Looking for stored codes is good, trying to disconnect battery is a long shot but might work.

Thanks everyone for their replys,
I did figure it out all by my lonesome, stumbled right into it.
Moral, don't try to fix things at 3:30 AM
also my stupidity was observed by Mr Engle. When I went to check on the problem today, before jacking the car back up, I messed w the trip odometer etc and realized I was reading KPH/KMs
Duhhhhhhh
Thanks All

That trick works great on new passengers. Just switch it over while they're not looking, then floor it and ask them to read the speed to you because you don't want to take your eyes off the road. When you hit 120 mph and the display says 200, they'll either think you've got nerves of steel or you've completely lost your mind.

Racer
Funny, the c4 had a lot of buttons on those dash boards. EG ran the c6 at the new moroso at night two weeks ago, track was very green, new group called Hookedondriving, they also do some t-hill and Laguna events too, great group ran in the advance/inst/race group under open passing limited to section of the track. There where a few gt1 and t1 vettes in the mix, very good experience driving at night is a whole new ball game.

Hooked on driving was started by David Ray. Who is a well known SCCA racer from SFR division.
It also turns out, by coincidence, he was my first ever instructor at SCCA Street Scool on my first ever track day, and he was my racing group instructor at SCCA Race License School at T Hill years ago.
Dave is a great guy and great driver, Very smooth and Very fast.
Was he at the FL event?
