Default A/C Question's

On my 84,the HIGH pressure relief switch has two wires that have never been connected....This was not done by the guy at the repair shop who installed the re-bilt compressor last year....I'm assuming one is a ground, but where does the other one go?....And also the CLUTCH rattles when the air is off...When switched ON,it firms up and is quiet....I was told to replace the CLUTCH,but I heard that this requires some sort of shimming and the use of gauges....Is this true or do they want to rip me off for something that seems as simple as removing a nut and slipping on a new clutch.....Price they want is $195,which includes the clutch which is $89 at the parts store......
