92' Wont start 5 min after running
My Dads 92' has been having a problem with starting. If it does start it runs great. After he shuts it off, he can restart right away, but if he waits approx 5 minutes...it wont start. He then has to wait till motor is cold it seems before it will start again.
Anyone ever experience this? Any Ideas? Thanks!

Sorry, it will just crank and crank, but wont fire. When it is running, it runs strong, no mis or bucking...even at acceleration over 60 mph.You can shut the car off, and start it right up...but if you wait 5 minutes..just cranks...wait 20-30 more minutes...fires up.

try flooring the gas pedal to put it into "flood clearing mode".. could be a leaky injector (mine does this and I have to floor it why I crank it, but it does start) that is cause a flooded condition.
Another method is to floor it for a few second and then let up and try starting it normally. This is suppose to open the throttle blade to allow the gas flumes or rich condition to exscape out of the intake track. I find that this doesn't work for me... but that is what they say to do..

You might have leaky injector/s when they are hot. After the engine is hot, shut it off and connect a fuel pressure gauge on the shrader valve at the end of the fuel rail. Turn on the ign to run for more than 2 seconds (fuel pump runs for 2 seconds and shuts off) and turn the ign off. Watch the fuel pressure gauge, it should hold up for a long time. If it loses pressure rapidly, you likely have one or more injectors that leak gasoline and the engine won't restart because the mixture is too rich. Also, if this is true, during cranking you should smell raw fuel out the exhaust.
