95 with driveline vibration(s)?
I believe I have a vibration in the driveline on my 95 6spd LT-1. There are times that the car seems fine and others when it's not. My theorey (and I'm asking for help) is that I have a "slightly" twisted driveshaft or axleshaft. The speed range seems to take place at about 55+ and is gone by 80. Again, this doesn't always happen??????

I sorta think i have the same problem. Im currently replacing the transmission, and found that my tail shaft bushing was worn. So i had a new one installed. Maybe this has something to do with it? I was thinking of rebalancing or just checking the balance on the driveline, but not really sure how, who does this, how much $.. Sorry I dont have an answer, just been thinking the same thing.

there are a number of reasons why you will get those shimmies...
1) road surface. really. could explain the on and off effect
2) rear wheel bearings. they go bad, the car starts to squarm
3) tires out of balance.
4) bad shocks
5) bad rear spring.
start checking... find out where is happens, as much as when it happens.

Re: 95 with driveline vibration(s)? (bogus)
I had a elusive vibration I couldnt find forever.. Especially cause I had looked it over recently...
Turned out to be a bad rotor. I had it turned, assumed it was true and reinstalled it.. I guess the shop didnt do such a good job, or the rotor continued to warp after I got it back..
I eventually found out that it was causing the vibration as there was just enough run out to tap the shoes and the vibration was at the same speeds.

Does anyone know what effect I could expect if I had a twisted drive shaft or drive axle?

I notice you own an f-body. They are known to have problems with factory driveshafts. Was a time where they had a recall on later models to replace steel driveshafts with 1LE aluminum shaft. Something about a metal shaft such and such length and diameter causing vibrations.
Also may check your tire pressure. I've noticed some vibration at highway speeds with my low profile tires 35/40's and checked tire pressure and found them at 25-27. Pump them up and walla! Again something about the wide/low profile tire.
Good Luck!
