Update: GMPP is covering my engine Replacement.
What a relief to get this news, a new 96 LT1 longblock is on order for my vette. Hopefully I'll have it back in 2 weeks or so. No crate enging but I can't complain, atleast I'm getting new heads and all as well. :D That would have been one hell of a bill if I had gotten stuck with it.

Congrats on the new motor. Just goes to show that expensive GMPP can really be worth the money. When you need it, you REALLY need it!
Doesn't seem like your heads were damaged from the previous thread. If they're providing you with a new LONG block, you ought to check into buying the old motor back. You should be able to do that by just paying the core charge ($280, I think, on my LT4, maybe less for your LT1). You could then sell the heads and the block for a good deal more than the core charge. That's what I did when my LT4 went south last year. I kept my performance heads and sold the brand new LT4 heads off the replacement block for a tidy profit. :)
One suggestion though... you will never have a better opportunity to do some performance work than now. The R&R is a big chunk of change and the GMPP is covering that. So for sure, at LEAST do a cam swap now. It'll never be cheaper. I wish I had gone the full stroker route, myself.

Yep, GMPP saved my azz again. Ya know the craziest thing is, I got a hell of a deal in August for this 96, I paid 16,500 which was a steal then. Low mileage, fully loaded incl. F45 original owner (vette enthusiast as well) garage queen car. Well after this engine replacement bill and The accident damage repair (from the Cell Phone using, non driving jackass that hit me) and some other warrany work I had done prior to this nightmare, The total money spent on this car for repairs (fortunately not by me) will be somewhere around $20,000.00.
And out of the 4 months I've owned this one, I've actually only had it in my possesion for a month. In that month I put Fikse FM5's on it which weren't cheap. SO......this vette according to my figures should be worth $39,000.00 So who has a 01' MY Vert that they're ready to trade in on my 96 for, I'll thrown in 4 grand cash to complete the deal.
