C4's are Poor Drag Cars?
Went to the local strip (Numidia Dragway) friday night and staged my car for the first time shot. As I pre staged I heard the announcer say:
"Up now is Pete Kane in his 87 corvette. C4 corvettes are not at all well suited to drag racing, and should be a mid to high 14 second car, on a good day".
Tree came down, and I whacked out a .021 light, cut a 1.640 60' time and ran 12.14 @113.
Made him eat some humble pie
Entry fee $25
Look on the announcers face, Priceless

Following the NHRA race from Dallas on-line this afternoon, I see John Force just tangled with K. Bernstein on the top end and had a serious accident. Two broken legs, and life flighted to the hospital, not his best year that is for sure.

I have been racing my 87 at that track since 1992, but not often in the past 2 years.
I am moving to New Hampshire on friday september 28 (next week), and thought I would try my best to win a few rounds on my final day at Numidia.
After 6 rounds, I won my class, then won the "race off" of the class winners.
Perfect way to end my day, and take a fond memory with me. A sentimental day for sure.
The announcer took my photo in the winners circle, and was quite impressed overall with the car. He saw the N2o solenoids and thought that was my ace in the hole. When I showed him the empty bottle brackets, I got to see "that priceless look" again
