Default Lowered My Car...

...and the ride height stayed the same.

The rear went down just like its suppose to, but the front with no wedge at all didnt do down any. I removed 1/2"-5/8" of rubber and the bitch didnt move....im at a loss.

oh and when i was done with the install and lowering the car back to the ground the jack slipped and luckily the oilpan broke the fall.

Just Not My Day...

i backed it out the driveway and pulled it back in to the garage...didnt really want to drive the car too much with a HUGE *** dent in the oilpan.

Default sorry to hear that.

hello crv3tt3,
sorry to hear your frustration, i know i would be quite annoyed if that happened to me after all that time/effort of pulling the dam spring out no results, gees i would be wild...
apparently you can also remove the rubber mounts on each end of the spring also to give some more lowering.
i think you have to carefully remove them by cutting them away with some sort of knife/grinder ever so carefully!!!!!
but thats just what i heard though.
give that a try and if still no good, coil over suspsension is your next best thing and you will definately get 2 " -3 " of lowering out them for sure with a doubt.
regards
shae

Sorry to hear about the oil pan. Give it a couple of days and some rough road mileage and it will settle some.

Are your front bushings shot? My car barely dropped after lowering. The control arm bushings were completely siezed up and wouldn't rotate.

Putting poly bushings in allowed the suspension to unbind and drop more.

How did you damage the oil pan? Where are you jacking the car from? The oil pan shouldn't be anywhere near the ground, or the jack.

Oil pan sounds like a salvage yard / ebay item to me. Cheapest new one would probably be Chris May at Superior Chevy in kansas, ask for forum discount.

I've had good luck with dino's corvette salvage in Mississippi.

i was jacking from the center cross section of the frame just in front of the oil pan. the rubber on the top of the jack jumped off and down she went.

and the bushings look to be fine.

Here's a thought - is the Oil Pan from a 305/350 TBI the same? If so, U-Pull-It!

I think the CF moderators put a hit on him for giving discounts to forum members and not paying the forum for word of mouth advertising.

His peons know about the discount though.

i have seen an l98 vette pan before but can't remember off the top of my head if its the same as the LTx pan but if it is similar then the fbody/truck pan is different along with the oil pump pickup. so i am pretty sure you are going to have to get the ebay one.. they aren't hard to replace with the engine still in the car..
