Default TPI/Hotcam Dyno Day Part 2

Saturday I went to a different shop to get a Certification run since the last shop had a problem with there weather station. I'm pretty happy with the numbers now but I'm concerned with the lean condition. I installed a high output pump from Racetronix and I have the new style Holley AFPR but it won't go over 41psi. My first thoughts are that the larger adjustable "****" on the regulator is hitting the body of the regulator and it just won't tighten down anymore. I'll start there but I'm looking for ideas..........

Isn't ~14 about spot on for the A/F, esp. on a MAF car?

12.5-13:1 A/F is a better target. 14:1+ is in the danger zone.

I'm surprised you are making that kinda power. The RPM doesn't surprise me but the actual RWHP does, congrats. You're about 20 over what I'd expect from a LTR intake.
I'd be a little concerned about 14-1 but the saying I use is "lean is mean." 13-1 may lose a little RWHP, maybe not, your car surprises me already.

Thanks Hippy. I wasn't sure how this would turn out. I know you and a couple others from CF haven't had much luck w/ this combo (277-287 rwhp) but there are two guys over at thirdgen that have this similar setup and they are around 325rwhp/380tq. The only thing I did different from the thirdgen guys is that I didn't siamese my base/runners and I added 1.65 rr's for the exhaust. I feel pretty good about the powerband, 5600rpm is as high as I want to go since I'm running the $800 2 bolt short block from Pace.

If I can scrape together some extra play money I would like to make my original block a forged / splayed 369 w/ HSR and the current heads, cam, etc.....

When you installed the AFPR was there a flat washer about the size of a quarter in the kit? 41 is way to low for having an adjustable regulator. it that checks out - verify you are getting good voltage to the pump

Did you clearance the regulator? It is to high and hits the back of plenum. I had to remove quite a lot of material there on the plenum. Maybe it is binding. I have mine at 46 PSI with no trouble.

You definitly have to do a good bit of grinding on the underside of the plenum with that AFPR

Mine was auto though so I figured if I had a stick that would put me around 300rwhp. The one thing I didn't have on my car that probably would have benefited me would have been a true dual, I had a 2 into 1 junk setup. Regardless, your pull is still pretty decent.

I did have to grind a lot off the plenum so that isn't a problem I guess it's time to pull it apart again to see if I put the washer in.....I hope it's something simple. Then on to the voltage. Thanks for the advice.
