I use a 195 (I think its stock) in my L98. Temps stay in a tighter margin of 195 to 225 when the fan comes on. The car seems to run much better this way.

i used a 160 in my 86, plus adj. thermostatic control set low enough to keep the temps in the 160-170 range.(yes, the fan still cycles) ran slightly better track times with it cool than at 200 deg.

i`m experimenting with a 140 marine stat in my 2000 GMC pickup... so far, i like it...

CFI-EFI: u are right, sold the car 2 weeks ago but just 3-4 days before i sold it, fan motor gave up on me. I bought fan motor and fan blade new, costed me easily 130 bucks. Yeah it (fans) runs all the time specially in this summer time. But that fan motor was 22 yrs old so i might be wrong and pos wire that goes to + batery, has no fuse in it, at the same time i put fusible wire with 30 amp fuse, solved my problem.
