On my 87 I have to have a 10K resistor in the cable between pins A & B to get data flowing. If you've tried that, you might also experiment with different baud rates in WINALDL.

Since you have the 165 ecm, I would look at using Moates software or Datamaster. Both are free, but Datamaster will cost you if you want more than the 20 free trial sessions.

I got it from aldlcable.com the OBD1 serial cable

http://www.aldlcable.com/sc/details.asp?item=aldlobd1

I just looed at it again and it says something about a resistor on the cable end can be repositioned between ports A and B for late 80s cars. I'll have to look at it again today and see if i can get it to work.

Default WinALDL DRP occured, o2 sensor, closed loop???

So I got my WinALDL to work and read everything. What does DRP Occured mean in the WM2 Flag data tab? And it never goes to closed loop even after running the engine for 5 min at operating temp. WHat should my O2 sensor read? it only goes as high as about .85.

Forget WinALD, now that you have the 10k resistor in, try Datamaster.
