Default Changing headlights

How exactly do you change the headlights in a 1992 corvette?

Open the hood turn the adjustment **** on the headlight motor this will let you move the light to get to the screws on the sides of the bezel cover. The two other bolts that hold the bezel can be removed form under the hood.

Default headlight

if that doesn't work for u, open the headlight, take the screws that you can see out, then go to close, and pop the headlight **** back out when it is halfway stowed, or half way out. then you can get the last screw(s)

Just did my 92 today.

I found it easier to turn on the lights then disconnect the battery cable at almost the same tme you turn them off again. This will make the motor stop and leave the lights in the half way position. Once there with the hood up this will expose the side screws as well as the inside screws.
Once you have the cover off, remove the top two screws holding on the hedlight trim/retainer ring. I was able to squeeze the new headlight in by just loosening the bottom 2 screws. If you bought an OEM direct replacement light the plug should fit without a problem.

Reverse what you did to put on the covers and you're done.

Don't mess with the alignment screws unless you absolutely have to. IMO.

Good luck

You Guys ROCK!!!,

Thanks for the TIP on loosening the adjusting know to get at the screws. I was dreading doing the headlight replacement as my manual didn't give that piece of insight, it just said remove the screws and I was cussing and stomping around my garage till I found your tip. Made my two hour job complete in 20 minutes.

Thanks again.......

After five years of use, my owners manual looks like a well used New York phone book.
