1992 Idle Speed
My 1992 corvette with manual transmission is running and operating fine, 153k miles. After warmup the idle speed is always at 900 rpm. Is this normal, I would of thought it should be down around 500 rpm? The service manual does not give a value for the idle speed to be at, just says that there is no idle adjustment - idle is controled by computer. I believe my IAC is working fine due the the fact that the idle is higher at start up, about 1150 rpm.
Thanks, Patrick

Check the C4 Tech Tips Section on this forum on how to remove and clean your TB, IAC motor and check base idle.

Does it sound like 900 RPM?
Is the SES or SYS light on?
The 90-96 TPS's are not adjustable but you can check the voltage anyway. Also cleaning the throttle body and IAC is a good idea if it hasn't been done in the last 30K miles. Also make sure there are no vac leaks. A scan would help.
