look at the fourth post for engine specs.

I don't have a tuner yet....I've not had any luck getting people to recommend a local vette 'tuner' so I looked up "PCMs for less" as the thread below recommended. Alvin did say 24 SVO's should be fine.

I have an LT1 builder friend(his car dynoed at 400 horsepower to the wheels) who said in the LT1 camaro/firebird crowd everyone tries to get the 36lb SVO injectors off the cobras....are our L98's that different than the LT1?

and does anyone know the answer to the impedance question? What impedance load injectors we need/can use?

FWIW, I use SVO 30lbers in my 465rwhp LSx F-body with no problems. The 24lbers seem really iffy to me in your application, but if your tuner is OK with it... Make sure the duty-cycle isn't TOO high.

You should be using the high impedence injector. I'm not sure, but I think the l98 is 13-16 ohms. But someone should clarify if I'm wrong.

IMHO I would have thought you would have needed the bigger injectors. ie. 30's with a 383 and a cam of that size. But again, Alvin really knows his stuff. If you are going to use him to tune it, contact him again and ask why he feels you do not need the bigger injectors. He may have a good reason, or maybe he missed part of your mods.
With my mods, I am running stock injectors, which are equivelent to ford 22's. I am maxed out however.

how much difference in mpg/fuel economy are we talking about between 24 and 30 or 32.





I did e-mail alvin back and ask why he only recommened 24lb injectors when they seem to be limited.

The reason why I said 24-30's are OK is because your using ported 113 heads and a superram intake. This combination will not make power much over 5600+ rpm.

What limits an injector more than anything is RPM. You can probally make 450rwhp at 4500rpm easy on a 24lbs injector but you better not try that at 6000RPM. The reason for this is because the injector has less avaiable time to open and deliever fuel.

All my experience on injector sizing is based on dyno experience... Not calculators.

Archaea, the Ford injectors are rated a 39 psi fuel rail. If you got the 24# SVO's this translates to approx. 26.5# actual at your GM (43.5 psi) rail.

just did a 383 for my vet with em ported plenum,lrg tube runners hogged out tpis bigmouth for a(1205), pro topline 195cc heads 1.6 pro magnums and compcams 262h cam and 24lb accell injectors and 43psi of fuel pressure. she runs like a bear! no problems thous far on leaning out at all. i have kept my eye on the plugs (ar3934) oh yeah, tune was done by jessie

is Accell as good as SVO for injectors??? Summit Racing only sells Accell for our cars and that's where I was considering ordering some of the stuff I need.

I have first hand experience. No, there not even close. The Accel's leak and don't last last very long. They are a very low quality product IMO.

Why does summit racing not mention that their red top ford racing SVO injectors are for chevy 350 blocks as well?

Is there a different set of SVO's i need? I see two different 30lb ford racing (SVO?) injectors in there, with a big price swing, but neither application says universal or that it can be used in a 350. Are these the wrong injectors entirely?

i just called summit and spoke with a sales guy.

He said they have ford racing injectors which were the same as the SVO injecdtors ---there were two types of 30 lb injectors

EV1 and EV6

When I asked him what the difference was he said he wasn't able to tell from the documentation. Neither of these two types list GM vehicles of any type as being applicable. He said they sell Accel injectors that are made for my application. I told him the guys on the board here at corvette forum had pretty much stated that SVO was the way to go. He said that was all he could tell me and that he'd sell me whichever I wanted

I have Ford Motorsport 30 lb injectors, specifically FMS-M-9593-B302F installed on my car, and they work fine.

I believe ford injectors are rated at a different psi than our stock injectors, so maybe that's why their not listed.

I think I've determined the F at the end of the part number that inccurs the additional expense means flowmatched and sorted to 1% difference whereas the stock set of the ford racing injectors (SVO) can be differences up to 6-7% according to the jegs website which sells the same parts by part number as summit.

370 bucks just seems like too much money though.

How come no one suggests the LT4 injectors? They are 28 lb injectors???? from what I've read...... Seems like that might be a happy medium for someone in my situation that may need bigger than 24, but may not need 30.

I am going to guess and say LT4 injectors are very expensive unless you find them used.
Also keep in mind, most injectors (Ford etc) are rated at 38-39 lbs of pressure to give the volume flow of 24 or 30 etc. Your injectors and LT4 injectors are rated at 43.5 lbs pressure to get the volume flow of 24 or 28.
So a 24lb ford injector will flow somewhere around 26 lbs of fuel in your corvette assuming you are running the stock fuel pressure regulator.
