car cover recommendations
The Vette has gone from garage parking to driveway. So, I was wondering what people recommend for a car cover for outdoor 4 season storage. It's still my DD till I pickup a winter car/ tow vehichle.

My take is buy the best one you can afford that's tailored to the car and pay the extra and have the grommets put in and buy the cable and lock, too. Usually, the Noah and Sunbrella's are seemingly the best, but others will chime in. Try covercraft on the web and see what they have to say. Some of the lighter ones (I think Tyvek qualiifies for that definition) are good and durable, but may not protect as well.

The one I got with my car when I bought it is from Mid America - fits fairly snug - elastic around the edges, made for a C4. Is waterproof I guess, but my car is never out of the garage. Very easy to get off and on.

I just bought a Wolfe $75 CDN my for car yesterday, put it on tonight. Has two year warranty. We'll see.
We don't have snow to deal with here.
Maybe put a tube tent over for the snow season as well as the cover and make sure put Dri-z-Air inside to take care of moisture problems.

I recently bought one from Ecklers although I don't usually buy from there because they are priced high, but in this case the cover was a good deal for a noah cover. Been using these covers for many years and like the way they hold up to New England winters.

Yep,my 85 sits out too.
In the summer,I use a Budge size 3 tyvek cover.It's about $35 at the Mart of Wall.In the winter,I put a tarp over the tyvek.
It keeps off about 80% of the water and it's white so it keeps out much of the sun & heat.Quick on & off.
I have one of these for all my cars.

Buy the best you can buy! I was talking to a guy looking at my vette and he said "I can tell you don't use a car cover". I asked how (and I don't) and he said he ownes a detail shop and they can always tell because of what it does to the paint.

I had to store my 89 convertible outside last Winter for the first time. I bought a Noah cover from Corvette Central and it did a great job, the car was still clean underneath this past spring. I also had a cable w/lock under the car at the doors. It will only stop the opportunistic thieves, anyone could cut the cover around the grommets with a good pair of sharp scissors and be off with it, but I still did it anyway. The Noah cover is light and easy to pack.

It came in the mail today. I ordered the Silver Guard over the Noah, just because the guy on the phone said it was the same thing and it came with a carrying case. 
It's on the car now, after a good washing, man is that thing on tight! I assume it's going to loosen up after some use, but till then I'll need to be carefull when I put it on. Nose 1st BTW.
Next question: On a DD how often do you put it on?
When you get to work?
When you get home from work?
What if it's raining?

I got the Coverking 4 layer car cover from Midamerica motorworks for $150. I love it it resists weather comes with its own bag and is fits real nice and tight.

I used it for about 6-8 months while the car sat outside and it did a great job. I let it dry and took it off and it is in the stuff bag that I got for it. Wouldn't hurt to have it washed (read really big washing machine), but there is little to no wear. It was on the car when the tornado went through downtown Ft. Worth in 2000 deflected all the rain pretty well.

I don't have a garage either. I use a Noah cover. Easy on and easy off. Allows car to "breath", dries quickly once it's wet. Wash it in a large tumble washer at any laundramat and hang up to dry. Had mine on all last winter, took it off in the spring, car looked almost as clean as when I covered it in December.
