Default Brake Booster

Has anyone ever had this problem. I replaced the brake booster and master cylinder on my 84. The new one I got the booster didn't work right until you hit the brakes about 5 or 6 times then it works just fine. I replaced it with another one and it never did work right. The brakes are just like using manual brakes. Is there something special you need to do when you replace a booster?

There is nothing special to do to replace it. I assume it has a new check valve and you are not using to old one. Also check that your vacuum hose is not clogged. If you put your thumb on it there should be plenty of suction on it and the engine will stall if you take your thumb off.

Is pedal travel the same? Is pedal feel the same?

Did you adjust the booster pushrod length and bleed it properly?

What does the pedal feel like with the car off?
