SS Brake lines and 315s: Clearance issues???

SS Brake lines and 315s: Clearance issues???
I painted the 86's stock rear calipers last night and switched on the new SS lines.
Thing is, it seems like the lines are AWEFULLY close to rubbing the 315s, 178x11" rim.
Anybody else noticed this?
P.S. The are Earls lines from Summit FWIW

I noticed the same thing. I cut the plastic brake line covers from the stock pieces and slid them over my new lines to see if I had any rubbing.
The passenger's side had slight rubbing. So I zip tied the lines to my shocks so I have .25" clearance.

Funny, the passenger side is what made me notice as well, not the driver's side. Sounds like it is out to the garage with zip ties, I'll post up if I can think of a better solution...

Mine were rubbing. I just loosened the end of the line that goes to the line in the chassis and rotated it so the angle of the line when the car is settled is away from the tire.
And its kinda funny, mine was passenger side too. Forget which stainless lines Im using they were bought from a corvette vendor and are dot approved as well.

I use earl's steel brake lines on my 315's without any rubbing issue.
Chris, ups man came up today but unfortunately i was not at home, so he left at leasing office. I will get that cable morning. Thanks.

I had the same problem with rear 315's on Grand Sport wheels on my 90 with Earl's SS lines. I wrapped SS lines with the corrugated plastic wire wrap to protect them from tire rubbing against SS line. It worked for me.

Ahh! So you just put them on then cut off the left over so it made sort of a row of rings of plastic protecting the line/wheel then?
Sort of like they have stock?
Sounds like a plan. I was also thinking of tygon tubing wrapped/sheathed over them but I like that idea.

I got zip ties on mine, but I've got a really long brake line for the brembo calipers.
The other thing on stainless lines, the tire won't eat the brake line, the brake line will eat the tire.

Thats what I was mostly worried about.

So here is what I found.
The problem with Earl's is that they are too easy to set-up. The fact that the ends rotate make it so you can easily have the SS line set up running towards the tire. I played around with the upper nut and got the line twisting naturally away from the tire. I then twisted the bottom banjo bolt attachment and bolted it up, then attached the caliper to the caliper bracket.
I then took the line, mocked up the wheel and gratuitously added zip ties for protection and then put an additional zip tie to keep it even more away from the wheel.
I think it will take care of it and be fine. Here is a pic for anyone watching in the future...

Hi,
On my 1992 I removed the mount-where the line is secured to the chassis. Then I ran the line thru a rubber coated clamp and connected where the factory mount was. This brought the line closer to the chassis. It has been like this since 2001 with many track events (with no plastic ties). Also using the Earls S/S lines.
