New Guy! 106mm turbo Corvette
Hello,
Just wanted to introduce myself! I have a 1984 Corvette with a 401CI small block and a 106mm Precision turbo. It is street legal. I also have a 1994 coupe with nitrous. Sounds like there are some really cool cars on here.

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you have some pretty cool cars yourself!
Care to give any performance data on your cars? When does that big turbo build full boost(rpm)?

The 1984 Corvette makes approximately 2,400 HP and has run a 6.87 @ 210 in the quarter (4.59 @ 164 in the 8th). When set on a milder boost level, it runs consistent mid 7s. It launches at 3,800 RPM and I change gears at 7,600. It weighs 3,150 without me in it. It has turn signals, power windows, horn, etc. and is street driven (not a lot!).
The 1994 Corvette is stock except B&B Triflow exhaust and nitrous. It's run a 12.03 @ 119 on drag radials.
I just sold a 1973 Corvette that I had owned for about 20 years. It ran a best of 9.16 @ 151 (street trim). I also sold my 1968 Corvette ragtop with a stock big block and a 4 speed. I miss the convertible BAD!

Your reference to "King Of The Hill" reminded me of the old ZR1s and I felt the need to state my credentials! I'm officially a Corvette freak.

Welcome friend!
106mm is alotta turbo. you have my respect. You car wouldnt happen to be red? and tubbed? Is your name Lee howie?
I think I might have a vid or two of it. It makes me "need a moment alone" every time I see it. It goes 4.90@149 in the vid and sounds like the flight deck on a carrier.

Also, if someone can post some pics, I'll send them some. I've never been able to figure out that stuff. Thanks!

Those pictures and videos were from quite a while back! I used to watch the car run and get chills as it passed me in the stands. Buying the car was a dream come true for me.
Lee is a great (not to mention brilliant) guy. He's taught me a lot about the car. I definitely respect its power and capabilities.
There is nothing like spooling that turbo and letting off of the transbrake button.
It's kinda like seeing Jesus.......and Satan......at the same time.

Believe it or not, the car will see a lot more street time than when Lee had it. I simply have to take it to some shows and cruise-ins. I can't stand to see a car that is not streetable. One of the first modifications is a bigger fuel cell. When on the street, it will be without the wheelie bars, parachute, and wing. All contingency stickers have been removed and the glass will be tinted to help hide the cage.
I've already driven it to the local Applebee's!

welcome aboard 106mm.. I have drooled on those videos for a year or two now.. one of my driving forces in my single turbo build up.. although the performance is vastly different..lol it kept me going when the end seemed so far away. now we have a 85 vette sitting on a trailer that is going to get loved on in a very similar manner.. although 106 is probably a little bit bigger then we will go.. think we were looking for something between the 91 and maybe the 101mm unit.. either way.. I am now gung ho again on plannign that project but nothing will be done until my car is finished being sorted out and our 95 is squared away with the blower. welcome again.. look forward to some fresh video motivation and maybe some street kills...

106mm,
Where are you generally located? I would LOVE to see that car on the street.... You are going to scare the heck out of people on the street with that thing.
Do you have any cooling issues in the street?
