Default Aftermarket transmission warning!!!

What would you say to a company ( begins with a K) that sells an aftermarket transmission for your C4 vette and does not inform you that you cannot shift the thing above 6500 rpm or does not supply all of the trany to bracket bolts necessary to do the job right? After I paid over $3200 plus shipping, I am still tiring to find the proper words!

When I called them, they said there was nothing they could do about the little 6500 rpm mistake! Ooops, either I am an idiot or they are ...

why won't you post the name of the company? do you really think you are the first person to say something bad about a vendor or company?
especially on a 32oo investment?

I had a bad rebuild as well in Germany, paid over 2000 dollars for mine and it wouldnt even shift into overdrive properly...
so I sent it to Pete. For less money, EVEN WITH SHIPPING, I got an amazing transmission that peforms at a high level.

My 1984 tranny had a slipping third gear and a second close to slipping. A repair only should have costed me 2800 Euro. Pete K did rebuild a stronger 1987 core for me exactly like I wanted it, with kevlar, 8 plate clutches etc, delivered a hand build excelent converter with it, was shipped to Spain and I still payed closed to 1 K less than the repair.

Or is he saying it won't shift? What "bracket bolts", to the c beam?

What do other aftermarket vendors of comparable manual transmissions
say about limitations of the syncros in their transmissions?

(I assume we are talking about manuals since you mention syncros and
there is no further information in your posts or under your profile.)

What RPM do you prefer to shift at?

Yes, I mean bracket bolts to tranny, not C-beam. The instructions describe them but they were not included in the box. I took a day off of work to do this part of the install, so it was a day of vacation wasted.

My engine will rev up past 7500. There was no mention of this shift point limitation by either their sales staff or their web site. It wasn't until I recieved the TKO-600 (road race version) and opend the box that I found this out. If I keep it I will have to close the throttle for about 3 seconds inbetween shifts.

The 6500 rpm mistake as you so kindly put it, is not of our doing nor does it have anything to do with our shifter modification. This is just a fact about the Tremec TKO. We never said you couldn't shift above 6500rpm only that you MIGHT encounter a missed 2-3 shift at or above that rpm. There is a terrific company in Florida that actually modifies the syncros, gears, links and dogs in these tranny's to easily withstand higher rpm shifts. In fact they are running them in Mustangs that are turning 7.40 et in the 1/4 with the TKO. If you want that kind of performance from your TKO, then please contact me and I will put you in touch with them. Try calling Tremec directly and ask them what the max rpm is for shifting their transmission and I promise you they will tell you the same thing we told you. As for the bracket bolts, what bolts are you referring to? Please contact me and I will straighten this out.

I did call Tremec and talked to them, after I received the tranny. They told me I would have to have the syncros power shifted If I wanted to go above 6500 rpm, so are you willing to pay for this? What about the missing parts?

How many after market high performance transmissions are shift limited to less than 6500 rpm? When I called your (Kiesler) costomer service depart ment the guy laughed at me and said I would have to call back later and talk to the sales person that sold it to me, but basically there was nothing that they could do. This is not a case of RTFM beacause there was no documentation from Kiesler stating this limitation.

Guys, not that you probably care about or want my opinion at this point,
but at this rate, I don't foresee a happy outcome for either one of you.

Any chance you can both take two steps back, pause and then come
at this again?
