Default Vortech Supercharger

With the mods I have (see signature) done to my LT1...could I...or should I get a Vortech Supercharger? I only have about 6000 miles on the new engine. I went to Talladega last weekend and am feeling the need for speed again...it happens everytime I go to a race. Thanks!

I love my supercharger, I only had 1000 - 1500 miles on my new engine before i stuck my supercharger back on.

Superchargers are not for the faint hearted, and can comsume a lot of money.. the kit you get from Vortech is ONLY the beginning..

Your build up is probably ok cam etc.... How much compression ratio are you running with the new build ? 10.5 :1 ?

Ideally it should be lower but i ran mine for sometime.. also it is best to have forged pistons rods etc...

With 10.5:1 compression. I would NOT advise running more then 5Psi of intercooled boost.

Every LT1 i've seen on boost blows up after a few thousand miles with the stock pistons.

Doing a forged rebuild is cheap and if you drop compression to say 8:1. You can run 15-17Psi easily on 93 octane.
