Default Running a scan on my 85

Ok, I have my new dell lap and datacable from craig moates, and I'm using winaldl program, I'm having the oddest time trying to figure out why the program is not retrieving info from the car. I clicked on "configuration" and the ecm is selected 1226870 (which I think is the right ecm #). But I'm not sure what to do from there, I have the chord hooked up correctly at the diag port. Any advise? I'm needing to get the readings of drive time and fast acceleration so I can send Alvin the files for a chip reburn. Thanks guys and I sure appreciate the information. My car is an 85 and running too rich

Have you talked to Craig?

He told me that the USB cables with WINaldl must be set to a particular braud rate.

I have a serial cable with my WINaldl so I can't say I know what its supposed to be for USB.

Try just running tunerpro RT to scan. There is now a xdf and I think there is ads file available in the moates download section for the 6870 ecm. Tunerpro RT is definately compatible with your cable.

I built the MAX232 version of the cable except that I made it with a MAX233 chip. The adapter works with WinALDL and my 85 but TunerPro RT says no hardware detected? Anyone else use this cable? If not, what is everyone using with the TunerPro RT program?

I think most people are using the AKM cables with it or they are building the simple 2 transistor cables for serial connection and using Craig's USB cable for that type of connection.

My understanding from Craig was you have to use the ALDU1+CABL1
together to form a complete ALDL-and only runs off a USB port. I could be wrong-usually am when it comes to computer stuff-but you might ask.
