Not on that year, but on my 1987 I just removed the rear C-beam bolts and one of the front ones while loosening the other front bolt and rotated the C-beam slightly to one side without totally removing it. It allowed me to get at the rear bolts easier and remove the drive shaft without any problem at all. I wonder if it would work on your year?

Well I finnaly got the drive shaft in with the c-beam installed but on a 1990 you have to bend a piece of a spot welded flange thats just above the shaft. It was so much easyer to get at the bolts on the beam without the shaft in the way.
