Correct Oil Pump for an '86?
Spent a good part of the evening trying to fit my 86 oil pan onto a Melling M-55 oil pump (with 55-S1 pickup). It will not go together and I've had it.
Can someone chime in as to if this is a corrct combo? Any p/ns? TIA

Yes, it is brazed. It hits the baffle. The previous oil pump was also a M-55 and 55-S1 which worked fine on a aftermarket pan.
The pan was about 8 inches deep so I went to a stock pan that doesn't catch on speed bumps.
