Default Accel Injectors, Good Idea, Or Bad??

I need some new injectors. I am thinking about the accels.
the car is pretty much stock. Accel wants a little over $250.00
for a set of 8, O'reilly wants $77.00 a piece for replacements
($616.00) someone steer me in the right direction

I've seen a lot of negative feedback on the Accels. The Ford Motorsports ones should be cheaper than the Accels and are of good quality.

I should have mentioned before, I got a set of low mileage LS6 take-offs over in the C5 section for $60. I think LS1 and LS6 are the same injector. Only about a pound or so more when run at the LT1's stock pressure which won't hurt a thing.

No problems with mine over the last 5 years - but then I only drive it may be a 500 miles a year, so who knows? Did resolve hard start cold.

A lot of us are using Ford/Bosch #24 on stock or lightly modded engines. Found on Ebay and priced around $225.00 for a set of eight.

Don't buy the Accels...... I went throught two sets and each set had bad injectors that leaked.

SVO 30lb injectors are good for about 450rwhp. Most on this list don't need bigger.

I bought a set from Mid-America. Car ran like horse crap, put them back in the box and got my $$$$ back.

You need the 24lb injectors.

SVO is the old name for Ford's Special Vehicle Operations (performance division). That name changed to SVT - Special Vehicle Team.

Ex-wife has been running a set of Accel 24 lb injectors on a L-98 383 stroker for 3 years no sweat. Just like with anything, your results may very. If they were all bad then they would be out of business. The technology is pretty much the same across the board and the whole auto parts industry is prostituted out anyway. Only a few manufacturers selling and buying from each other. Just my .02

I've got Accels on my 383 - no issues.

So I can run 30lb's with no problem??

I will say I have true duel's and no smog (or cats)
egr block off plates, electric W/P with gear
removed from behind timing cover, true roller
T/C. I'm not sure if injector size matters with such
small mod's. I was thinking of installing a CC 305 cam
later, so will 30lbs matter later for performance??

And I have stock heads.

Accels...

Installed a set of new 36 pounders...at the 10,000 mile mark-one failed in the open position.

Replaced with another new 36 pounder...another different one failed within another 1000 miles...this time in the close position.

Different cylinders...OEM harness.

I would not recommend Accel for injectors...

I replaced with a set of Delphi 32 pounders bought from Racetronix-forum sponsor. GM issued injectors on the new cars.

Very happy.

....a little off the subject, but I really believe we should start referring to these as FSVO's, or something like that. It just seems wrong and we certainly wouldn't want people to see us using the four lettered "F" word on the "world renowned" [CHEVROLET] Corvetteforum!!!

And by the way, I have accels with probably 10,000 miles on them and have no problems, but then again, I have lots of problems with my 85, so who knows- they could be bad too and just disguised by other issues!

The 30 lb injector will work perfect is you do the computer tuning.
