What does he mean "won't"?
What does he mean when he says it won't go into gear? He physically can't push it - the lever won't move? It grinds when he tries to put it into gear? It goes into place but when he lets the clutch out the car doesn't move? While it's possible it's a clutch problem, my first guess would be a tranny issue.

If the shift lever won't physically move and it's only when cold it is probably a fluid issue.
The ZF6 is supposed to be filled with what is essentially motor oil, not gear lube. If gear lube is used then it thickens when cold to the point that the shifter can't be moved through the gunk.
