That's the tool they're talking about. I'm not sure if you were looking for it, or just a way to open it =\

Hope this helps at least a little!

Probably rusted shut. The hood latches hold water annd rust on the freshly bare metal. If you can get one side open part way, it should be easier to pull the cable with the release tool.

If we were smart, we'd practice fishing for the hood latches with a working hood just so we'd know how in case we needed to some day.

well i spent the 20 bucks for the tool and another 20 bucks to next day it - it says you can open the hood in seconds with this tool - right now i'm a little over 3 hours into it - the drivers side opens with the latch - it's the passenger side that doesn't want to open - man i hope i don't have to get the saws-all out

it has been an interesting day but 4 body shops later i have my hood open! -we did use the handy dandy little 20 dollar tool to get it open - but without pratice belive me unless you just get lucky it takes longer than a few seconds! on mine the lcable didn't break but the little 25 cent metal holder that holds the cable broke - i would advise everyone to build or buy this little tool - a person could make one for a couple of bucks - also you need to look under your hood and see just how the latch works - thats 90% of the battle - if anyone wants to e-mail me i will furnish a drawing showing how to build the tool -

That's great news. It'll never happen to me though, I haven't shut the hood in months.
