me vs. a 97 bold on gt
my friend just installed pi heads and intake on his 97 gt, with a .545 lift, has off road h and pro mac dumps, he is gonna dyno and tune his car saturday and im gonna bring the stock 95 a4 vette up there with him and dyno to get a base line of me.... 2 questions if i install a lid today how much approximatillay would it add, and after he is done on the dyno will i be able to beat him from a stop? he said he is gonna run around a 13.7, and i thought thats what i run stock so dont i have a chance?

I've got a '94 six speed and my friend has an '04 Cobra (395 supposed hp) and I could almost run with him to about 100 so I would say you have a chance, especially if he has a standard and can't drive.

I used to own a non-PI GT and my stock 89 would smoke it up and down the road.
the mod cars before 99 are not much to worry about

I agree... if all he can get out of those mods is a 13.7... you'll still hang by his side the whole time. Personally I'd throw a 100 shot of NOS in her while he's not looking and blow his doors off

This is a difficult question - some PI GT's run in the 12's (check out www.corral.net)..... but most are in the low 13's. It sounds like a drivers race.

yes it would, i would be suprised if he ran 13.7, does he stil have the stock gears? because those mods motors realy need 3.73 or 4.10's, they are hurting in the tq dept.

I had a '03 GT 5 speed. Don't listen to the hype, people. Low 13's? Stock, not on a cold day in hell. Modded, all engine? Not very likely with an average driver. Here's why:
1. Traction sucks.
2. Shifter sucks, really bad. The Tremec, even in new cars, will grind on a hard 2-3 upshift, and Ford still hasn't corrected it.
3. Car handles like crap.
4. It's a pretty quick car up to 100, but it hits a brick wall there. I had intake, exhaust and other goodies, and she'd just balk at 125+
5. Even the 05+ cars are not that fast in the hands of an average driver- the motor is highly overrated at 300 hp, although they handle much better.
I have found that an automatic 93+ will smoke just about any GT on the freeway, period. Not timeslips, etc, simply DRIVABILITY and natural fastness. And that's what makes you go

Drifting
dont those things have govenors on them?
well do this
find out his rwhp and his weight
divide
do the same with you
thats the power to weigth ratio.... figuratively speakin the car with more power/weight wins. but agian it comes down to driver etc..
if you have the money and you are sweating it buy some highb traction tires.
