I ran the RPO codes for my '94. I learned quite a bit about my car like it has 3:45 rear end when I was thinking 3:07 for some reason.

Found something a little wierd, maybe one of you guys can help. I have codes AC1, AC3, AK5, and AR9. (power pass SPORT seat, power driver SPORT seat, inflatable seats, and base leather seats...respectively) But I only have the base seats. Does this mean the previous owner switched them out and their switches? And BGR Decal package....what decal package?

You mention that the seat switches in the console are gone. It would seem odd that the prior owner would go through the hassle of removing them but the codes are correct as you say for the power seats.

I seem to recall hearing BGR is the Bowling Green assembly plant decal that is on the drivers side door showing point of origin. Don't quote me on that, just some hearsay I'm passing along. Confirmation / correction anyone?

Another possiblity could be that the console lid has been replaced with one from another car with different options. Lot of hassle to pull out the sport seats and switches.

I wonder if the original purchaser told the dealer they only wanted the base seats when buying the car off the lot - so the dealer swapped them out.

The console lid RPO list also has the VIN on it so it would be pretty unusual to see that.

I could see a previous owner removing the sport seats if something went wrong with them, but weren't the inflation buttons on the seats themselves like the earlier cars?? The power seat buttons that operated the up/down/back/forth and tilt were on the console.

"BGR" as shown on the CAC link is for "Bowling Green Assembly Plant" meaning that is where the car was built. Not all cars got BG decals. My 92 does not have any decals on the door, but a friends has the UAW sticker Later cars got a Bowling Greeen Assembly Plant decal on the driver's door. There is a "B6R" RPO that specifies "Decal Package".

Match your vin #'s the prior owner may have changed the console lid.

The definition for RPO-AK5 is incomplete on the Corvette Action Centers web site.

AK5 = driver and passenger front row seats inflatable restraint system (dual air bags).

This is used on all Corvettes MY1994 and newer.

1990-1993 Corvettes with driver side only air bags had the RPO-AJ3.

The VIN matches the sticker in the console. The switches are still there...each seat has its own control. I think the seats are the factory installed ones (judging by shape they are in) and the matching switches. The AC1 and AC3 confuse me...they call out for "sport" seats and I only have the standards and standard power switches.

If you have a 94-96 with sport seats, could you check your sticker in the "A" section and pass on your codes?

Why the big fuss? I want to keep the car as original as possible, but it seams new "sport" seat leather is easier to get. And if that is what it came from the factory with, that is what I want.

I have a 94 with dual sport seats. I'll get the codes tonight after work. There should be a switch on the drivers side of the top of the console just before the storage compartment that is for the seat backs and the switches on the passenger side of the console are for the air bladders. On the passenger side there is also a slider switch to control either the drivers' seat or the passengers' seat. Between those two switches is either a blank area or the FX3 control ****. A lot of people have put a Corvette emblem there to fill the blank space.

Mine just has the two matching slider switches that adjust for front to rear and height. Let me know.

According to my code list and "Cor-vette Specs", AR9 only indicates the general seat type, i.e. bucket, european style, reclining. The code that tells the color is a 3-digit number; 143,193,643,or 703 for '94. All '94's and up had leather. The AQ9 code is the sport seat indicator. AC1 (pass) and AC3 (driver) are the 6-way power seats. The AK5 is driver airbag. Since dual airbags were standard in '94, it may include the pass unit also. FWIW

Yep. I was trying to remember the codes without my book and AQ9 is the sport seat option. Should have remembered to just look at the sticky. Especially when I helped post to it!

Both of my seat switches look like the one on the left in pics. From what I am reading is it safe to assume the previous owner removed the sport seats and installed standard seats and switches?

Check your RPO codes again. As noted above by tonymax2 if you have AQ9 you have (or had) the power sport seats. AC1 and AC3 are the RPO codes for the standard power seats.

Copy... I have AC1, AC3, AR9....guess it had the base from the factory. Now to buy some new leather and foam!!! Any suggestions?

You'll get a lot of opinions on this. I'm going to go with all new leather and foam too. Probably from Al Knoch. People say they're expensive but they also say they do good work. You may look around a bit though. More places sell the base seats, I have sport and some places list great prices on base but don't even offer sport.
