Default CR with SR and 219?

What compression ratio's are you guys running with a 406 SR219 combo? I've got one I'm currently building and I'm going close to 11.0:1 (10.8:1 w/.044" quench) according to intake closing point I'm right at the edge of pump gas! It's got 195 cc AFR Heads.

I think you're fine Juan, I'm at 10.66 with the same combo in a 421 and my octane out here is 91. I think the big thing is to determine if it's a true LPE or one of the knockoff versions which have a 4* advance. My cam is an Erson small base circle which came with the advance, so I had to retard it 4* to regain the true LPE valve events. That did wonders for my dynamic CR. I'm amazed at the idle quality...........it sounds like a stocker almost. Just be sure you install it at 112* and you'll be fine

Edit: My quench is fairly tight at .040

Not that I have a 406 But my 381 has 10.75-1 and I have taken out a head gasket to detination. I now add Av gas to be safe. All's it takes is one bad tank of gas.

My 383 219 combo was 11:1 and like Rich, I had detonation a time or two.

Av gas Rich? That is for higher altitude burning I thought? A little 116 now n then would be fine...but it should be ok for pump gas.

Thanks for the replies guys! I'll look into the 4 degree advance on the cam. Thanks again!
