Default Pictures of my rear QA1 coilover setup (part 2)

Link to pictures from part one:

Here are the rear brackets we made:

Rear coilovers done!

I have been driving the car a lot now. No more strange noises from the rear setup. Now I can drive on bad roads without my tires bottoming out in the fenders. The car handles great and my confindence with the rear setup has been restored.

My stepbrother has been looking for something like this to mass produce and make a few extra $$$ - maybe give out the dimensions and he could crank a few out to sell to forum members if they aren't mass produced.

If there were a few people interested in the brackets I could put something together.

These were done out of aircraft aluminum the old fashion way.

Raysur,

Those look great... I'd also think that strengthening the bottom side would be a plus also... AlthoughI i have had no problems with the bottom mounts it would be nice to have them beefed up...

RedL98,

I believe Raysur is using the same shock (hal 5855's), initially I used the same length as the front(4855), but had problems when like going over smooth railroad tracks the rear tires would leave the ground, which mad the ASR go nuts LOL. The brackets that Raysur has made would probably accommodate the shorter 4558.

regards,

mo

Mo_Bandy is right. I'm using 4855's all around. I need to raise the front up .5" then I'll post a picture of the stance.

We are going to find out how long these took to make then go from there. Thanks again.

Maybe you should think about making those for sale on a large scale if nobody else makes something like that...

Agree. Since it is a hot suspension that every body wants one on their cars.

you mean that a rear coilover kit isnt readily availible for these cars? I would have figured with as long as these cars have been out that someone would have done this long ago.

on that note i am never lowering the front of a C4 again unless I am using coil overs. sure it looks awsome with the front sitting low, but man is it a pain to cut the rubber off the spring and all the other stuff you have to go through.

those brackets look nice as do the coil overs. what grade aluminum are you planning on using?
